An antique George V sterling silver salver/tray which has a circular shaped body which measures 15 1/2" in diameter. This superior quality tray has a plain body, a wonderful gadroon border and rests on four ball and claw feet. It would be ideal for displaying a silver tea set or decanters and glasses. Rarely does one find a salver/tray of this calibre and craftsmanship. It weighs 72.7 troy ounces (2,260 grams). Height: 4.6 cms (1.8") Outer diameter: 39.7 cms (15.6") Inner diameter: 33 cms (13") It was hallmarked in Sheffield for 1934 by William Hutton and remains in excellent condition.
