Figure of a Boy by Auguste Moreau C.1910

Description

Large spelter figure of a boy after the great French sculptor Auguste Moreau (1834 – 1917) c.1910. The figure is known as `Charmeur` and is a representation of the impish god Pan (note the flute by his feet). Cast in spelter as a smiling young boy holding a branch on which are perched two songbirds. With attractive painted bronze finish to the skin. Signed in the cast on the base. Excellent original condition.
