A super quality antique Victorian mahogany campaign dining table with six additional leaves and firmly attributed to Edwards & Roberts of London. This large 5ft round table smoothly extends to 15ft by means of a double Joseph Fitter ‘screw expander’ winding mechanism and strong mahogany runners, with all the leaves inserted it will seat 16 people. With a moulded edge to the top and plain frieze below it stands on five turned and reeded tapering screw-off legs with brass caps and porcelain castors. The detachable legs designed to make it much easier to pack and carry whilst on a military campaign.In a rich dark mahogany colour and in good condition with winding handle, this table has been sympathetically cleaned and waxed using traditional hand methods and the mechanism serviced, it does have a small patch in one leaf and minor marks as should be expected for age.
