Beautiful Japanese Meiji gold takamaki-e four-case inro depicting red-crowned cranes feeding from a tray and flying in clouds, with matching netsuke and gold lacquer ojime. Inro measures 7.7cm x 5.5cm. Unsigned, but superb first-class lacquer work.
The red-crowned crane, also called the Manchurian crane or Japanese crane, is a large East Asian crane among the rarest cranes in the world. It is known as a symbol of luck, longevity and fidelity.
Perfect original condition with no damage or losses.
