Beautiful Japanese Meiji (19thC) ivory lacquered netsuke of red-crowned crane signed Shingetsu. Double inlaid (horn) eyes. Measures 5cm long x 3cm high x 2.5cm wide.
The red-crowned crane, also called the Manchurian crane or Japanese crane, is a large East Asian crane among the rarest cranes in the world. It is known as a symbol of luck, longevity and fidelity.
Lovely original condition and nice patina.
