Brocket Hall, Hertfordshire
Brocket Hall was built to designs by the eminent architect James Paine in the mid Eighteenth Century. It was home to two Prime Ministers in the Nineteenth Century; firstly Viscount Melbourne who was a great favourite of Queen Victoria and laterly Lord Palmerston. Brocket Hall was regularly visited by Queen Victoria in the early years of her reign and George V was a frequent visitor during his reign.
