Unusual Victorian Silver Caddy Spoon M.O.P Handle

A very unusual Victorian caddy spoon. The silver bowl of the spoon is in the form of a shovel. Here hallmarks are clearly visible for the Chester Assay office with a date mark for 1898, Lion passant indicating the finest sterling silver along with the maker''s mark for the silversmith Hilliard and Thomasson. The most attractive handle is made from mother of pearl.
