Pair of large mid C19th Italianate cast bronze ewers in the Renaissance revival style .

Impressive pair of bronze ewers cast with a continuous bacchanalian scene with cavorting amorini or putti , completing the grape harvest around the tapering globular bodies . Raised on vine-leaf cast stems onto circular socle bases .

Each with an elaborately-cast shaped handle surmounted with a winged cherub and a bird , together with shaped spouts. The handle terminating onto the body with a cast ram’s-head .

The vases with elaborate all-over detailed casting with vine leaves and grapes.

A highly decorative pair of tall bronze ewers in excellent original condition with a good colour and patina.
