Penderyn Antiques has dated this piece to the 1870s.
The cupboard doors open to reveal a fitted shelved interior. The base has an arrangement of three short drawers above two long drawers, each with polished wooden knobs. The base drawer has writing to the underside reading ‘Made by Joseph Jones, Llansawel, Llandeilo, 1878’. The antique Welsh oak press cupboard separates into two parts for ease of transport and movement. A particularly neat example.
