A Fine 19th Century Bronze Study of Napoleon on Horseback

This superbly detailed bronze depicts Napoleon dressed in full military uniform and also a large cloak sat astride his magnificent horse which has reared up onto its hind legs and Napoleon is sat with one arm raised signalling to his command and leading them into battle. The sculpting and find modelling of this piece is outstanding. It is mounted onto a naturalistic bronze base which terminates in an elaborate foliate band of scrolls. This fine bronze is in very good condition with a pleasing mid brown patination.
