Antique English Sterling Silver Photograph Frame - 1895

Description

A most unusual and highly decorative photograph frame with a continuous sterling silver wire used to create a heart shaped design. At the top is a large silver cartouche which could be engraved to personalize if desired. The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1895 together with the makers initials HM for the silversmith Henry Matthews.

The frame is all original (except for the black tape joining stand to back) with a Burgundy coloured leather backing and a folding easel stand. The back opens up to replace pictures behind the original bevelled glass.

Excellent condition, measuring 7 1/4" x 5 1/8" with an aperture measuring 5 1/2" x 3 3/4".
