Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Production of calligraphic glazed tiles flourished during the Safavid (15011736) and Qajar (17891925) eras in Persia, where architectural ceramics were extensively used to adorn religious and royal structures.

These tiles were typically crafted from fritware or siliceous clay bodies, painted with mineral pigments such as cobalt for deep blue and copper for turquoise, before receiving a clear lead or alkaline glaze firing.

Genuine historical examples feature distinct hand-painted calligraphic inscriptions, irregular glaze crackle, signs of mortar on the reverse from architectural insertion, and authentic mineral pigment oxidisation.

Displayed on a bespoke acrylic stand, mounted in a box frame, or positioned on a mantelpiece, these historical panels provide a focal point of colour and cultural heritage within contemporary scheme designs.

Clean gently using a dry microfibre cloth or a soft bristle brush to remove dust, avoiding liquid chemicals, harsh abrasives, or soaking that could compromise delicate glazes or unstable ceramic bodies.
