English Victorian Horn Cup or Beaker - Sterling Silver Mounted - 1873

Description

This wonderful Scottish or English horn cup is such a wonderful and unusual colour, very visual markings making it a highly decorative example.

The rim is mounted with sterling silver with a good hallmark for London 1873 together with the makers initials WH I believe for the silversmith William Hope; the hallmark also includes the highly sought-after Queen Victoria's head duty mark.

There is also a shield to the front, which acts as a cartouche for engraving and could be personalized by your silversmith should you wish.

The base retains it's original glass panel.

Excellent condition, measuring 4 5/8" with a rim diameter measuring 2 7/8".
