Antique Victorian Sterling Silver & Glass Claret Jug - 1898

An antique Victorian sterling silver and glass claret jug which has appealing etched flower detailing to the body with a star cut feature to the base. The silver mount, hinged lid and handle have been elaborately decorated with flowers and swirls and the leaf finial on top of the lid is a particularly attractive feature. This silver claret jug would make an interesting addition to a collection and would be perfect to use. It will hold a full bottle of wine.
Height: 23 cms (9.1'')
Length (from spout to back of handle): 14 cms (5.5'')
Diameter of body: 11.5 cms (4.5'')
It was hallmarked in Sheffield for 1898 by Henry Hobson & Sons and remains in excellent condition.
