N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This beautiful antique library clock has a lovely case with a fantastic rich colour.
The top of the case then has a lovely shaped moulding leading to the square body of the case. The body then has glass panels to the front and back as well as stunning, thick bevelled glass panels to the sides to that the movement can be fully seen. Below the body is then a lovely “bell” shaped section which is often seen on library clocks. Finally there is another thin moulding leading to the base which is finished by four thin, round brass feet. Both doors then have their locks and keys.
The dial is then silvered and set out in black Roman numerals with a thin ring to the outside marking the minutes. The centre of the dial then has a beautiful engine turned pattern to the centre. The dial is then finished by two lovely shaped hands.
Finally the movement is wound from the front and adjusted from the back and is ticking away as it should. The movement is a single fusee example of the upmost quality and comes complete with its regulating pendulum and winding key.
A truly beautiful clock with a very rare campaign top. Would look perfect in any home pr as part of a larger collection.

9.5” / 24cm Tall.
6.25” / 16cm Wide.
5.5” / 14cm Deep.
