~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~
The movement is fitted in the drum of the case and has a finely decorated brass dial with 12 individually enamelled cartouche letters for the hours and original blued steel hands. Elaborate scrolling decoration with mythical creatures decorates the shoulders of the case and an urn adorns the top. A splayed and fretted base allows the pendulum to be glimpsed swinging within. The modelling of the case is beautiful and is of the highest quality with sharp detail and the lacquered finish is clean, bright and fresh.

The Japy Freres movement is of the high quality one would expect and has the clockmakers mark on the backplate along with the retailers mark for Paison and Thomas. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the movie below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent with a clean and bright finish. The finial is slightly distorted. The dial is also excellent with no damage the enamel cartouches. We have replaced the red velvet of the fretted back door.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.

About us - All of our clocks are original antiques, we source most of our clocks in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. We prefer to buy our clocks in original 'dirty' condition. We then clean the cases using a technique we have developed over many years. We employee two qualified clockmakers who overhaul the movements. Movements are thoroughly tested until we are satisfied that they will run trouble free.
