Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
It is really well made and has a gorgeous, shapely design. It is finished on all sides, so can be used as a free standing item. This is predominantly rosewood, with inlaid marquetry of satin wood and various other woods. There are high quality gilt bronze ormolu mounts, and a single drawer on the front side.
We have had this re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is excellent for its age.
