Description

A Classical Planter.

The 19th century Glazed and Patinated Terracotta Planter, of oval shape, the rim decorated with a band of rising leaves, above the body decorated with fruit and flower swags, held by four masks of Pan.

The body sweeping into a fluted cup, before the waisted and spreading oval foot.

The underside impressed for the maker “W and S” with a pattern number.

Height 7 1/4 inches, 19cm.

Width 14 1/2 inches, 37cm.

Depth 9 1/2 inches, 24cm.
