This is a very pretty clock by the French clockmaker Japy Freres.
The dial does have very faint hairline cracks but this is hardly noticeable unless you study it carefully and there has been some old repairs to the marble but this in no way detracts from the clock.
It is called a boudoir or bedrrom clock as it is purely a timepiece, it does not strike or chime.
As you would expect from Japy Freres it has a wonderful French movement and is fully marked with the trade mark of Achille Brocot, it is totally original.
It comes with its original key.
The movement has just been serviced comes with a 12 month warranty.
It runs for over 8 days between winding and strikes on the hour and half hour on a small tuned bell.
A very pretty clock and would look charming on a mantel pieced or bedside cabinet.
