The even swirling effect was produced during the hand blowing. One handle is open ended (where the blowing pipe was) and the other handle bears a good pontil mark, where the glass was cut. There is an occasional crystalline effect in the hollow, said to be leftover from salt, which was typically stored there. The condition is exceptional, considering it’s age and that a rolling pin is essentially a utilitarian object.
