Description

A sumptuous solid silver necklace studded with the beautiful deep purplish red flat-cut garnets typical of Georgian jewellery. It appears originally to have been gilded and although this has largely rubbed away over time, tiny traces of gold remain.

The necklace also has a brooch fitting and both the necklace and brooch clasps work as they should.

The necklace is in good antique condition, although there may originally have been another element in the space at the centre. The middle three "pearls" are simulant replacements and one of the tiniest garnets is vacant.

Chain length: Approximately 42cm.
