Rare novelty Dunhill Bolide MG motor car table lighter, circa 1930s
as shown in the Blei & Bottoni Dunhill lighter book.
According to the book this model first appeared in the Rue de la Paix in 1934, the second model having the lighter under the bonnet, all known examples are unmarked.
The lighter mechanism occupies the passengers seat, when the gear lever is pulled (against a spring) the flame cover is raised, a spark is produced on release.
Excellent chrome plated brass body with original black ''hammerite'' painted chassis.
Original rubber tyres marked DUNLOP, rubber now hard with some restored areas
Missing the windscreen, replaced black plastic steering wheel,
In excellent sound condition and working order.
Length 6'' or 155mm, weight 358 grams.
