Description

Always highly sought-after, this is a charming little string box made from antique sterling silver with a hallmark for London 1897 together with the makers mark E S B for E S Barnsley & Co Ltd -Edward Souter Barnsley.

The body is decorated with a swirling repousse design and the lid embossed around the hole in the top where the string would be dispensed. The interior of the box is gilded.

Excellent condition, measuring 2 1/2" in diameter and standing 2 1/2" tall.
