Stunning Sterling Silver Mounted Perfume Bottle - Art Nouveau - 1902

Description

A stunning heavy piece of crystal was used to create this beautiful scent bottle, an elegant plain globe being the perfect background to showcase the intricate sterling silver pierced mount encasing the shoulders.

The design is clearly Art Nouveau in design, very organic with a floral and foliate theme. The domed hinged lid is also decorated with flowers and leaves. The lid when opened reveals the original crystal stopper to protect the precious contents from evapouration.

The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1902, making this a true antique example from the early Edwardian era. Excellent undamaged condition, measuring 4 1/2" tall with a diameter of approximately 3".
