N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The housing of the clock is then gilt bronze and sits upon a lovely scrolling gilt bromze platform with shaped detailing to the front. The clock then has a square base with a moulding to the bottom and a beautiful, intricately shaped floral and ribbon designed mount to the front. The case is then finished by four gilt bronze “ball” shaped feet.
The dial is then painted and set out in black Roman numerals with a thin ring to the outside marking the minutes. The dial then has two lovely shaped hands to mark the time. Finally the dial has a shaped inner gilt bronze bezel as well as an outer shaped gilt bronze bezel that secures the domed, protective glass.
The movement is then wound and adjusted from the back and is ticking away as it should. It comes complete with its double ended winding key. The movement can also be seen when the back door is closed via the window to the back.
It measures approximately:
10.25” / 26cm Tall.
5.25” / 13.25cm Wide.
3” / 7.5cm Deep.
