Description

A super 19th century gold cross pendant adorned with 60 tiny natural white seed pearls and delicately engraved leaf decoration.

The piece is unmarked but tests as 15-carat gold. Fifteen-carat gold pieces are not overly common (in the UK only really used between 1854 and 1932, although this piece has a more European look) and as this fineness was generally used in high quality pieces, it is attractive to collectors.

The cross is in very good antique condition and the pearls, although each natural and so unique in shape and size, are well matched and have a lovely shining nacre.

Size: 4 x 5.5cm, 6.3cm total drop.
