An attractive large 19th century Meissen porcelain ornithological themed circular dish with underglaze blue scrolling vine frieze running around the inside of the rim. The centre finely painted with a tree in a grassy landscape with three birds perched amongst the branches. Various bugs and butterflies are scattered about the outside of the main scene. Impressed numerals 2 and 12 to the base and crossed swords mark, c.1860.
It measures 24.2cm (9 1/2'') wide and 5cm (2'') high.
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration and minimal handling wear.
