Description
This is an attractive table clock of fiminutive size. The eight day duration, gut fusee movement with Anchor Recoil escapement, knopped pillars and shouldered plates. Also, a pendulum locking bracket and micrometer regulation to the pendulum. The backplate, back cock and bob are florally engraved with a border. Behind a 5" diameter, bowed painted dial with black Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track and the maker's name to the centre portion that reads "COCKBURN" (probably James) of "RICHMOND". Also having matching spade hands and a locking, cast brass bezel with bowed glass. The figured mahogany case has a stepped chamfer top with a cast brass, pineapple finial. The plain trunk has a figured front that is strung with brass to the front. This is repeated on the short plain plinth which sits upon four brass, 'Ball-and-plate' feet. The rear of the case has a plain, locking door. The movement is bright and in working condition but as usual, would benefit from an overhaul. The dial is good and has been repainted at some stage, there are some minor chips. The case is in excellent condition and has been repolished. Both locks are original and are working. The price is for the clock in its present and working condition. Any work required by the purchaser can be discussed upon enquiry. If we get time to overhaul the movement to this clock, the purchase price will increase to £3450. For further information please contact us at info@bournemouthclocks.co.uk Internal Ref: SA14397
