In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
It has its original blacksmith made handles, latch and hinges. The lid opens to reveal a plain interior and there are three small drawers below, each with a brass pull handle. The middle drawer has a concealed inner latch which holds it shut.
It is in very good condition for its age and has developed a lovely patina. It strong and sturdy with some minor signs of age and use, some small knocks and surface marks here and there but nothing detrimental. There are some minor losses and a couple of missing studs but nothing untoward and it displays very well. We do not have a key for it.
