Description

A Malles Moynat, Paris steamer trunk, circa 1910, covered in brown canvas with leather edge trim, brown enamelled steel headband, beech slats with brass studs and corners, the leather handles with brass mounts and brass clasps and lock the front, the canvas lined interior with Malles Moynat label to the inside lid. With original key.

Second only to Louis Vuitton this large trunk by Malles Moynat is of superb quality. The handles and brass clasps are all marked Malles Moynat.

In good, sturdy condition with mark and scuffs commensurate with its 100+ years of service. One of the leather side handles is an (old) replacement but brass fixings still present.

LVMH (Louis Vuitton, Moet Hennessy) now own Malles Moynat and have a retail premises at 348 Rue St Honore Paris selling leather goods of the highest quality.
