N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This lovely antique mantel clock has a lovely and unusually shaped case which looks fantastic.
The top of the case then has a lovely gilt carry handle as well as the top edge having a further gilt brass mount. The front corners of the case then has further mounts leading to the bottom which has a final mount to the centre.

The dial is then gilt with a fantastic shaped centre. It is then set out in black Roman numerals which are painted onto individual enamel pieces. The centre of the dial is then signed by the retailer “ARTHUR JACK & COMPANY CHELTENHAM”. The dial is then finished by two lovely shaped hands as well as a domed and bevelled glass set into a brass bezel.

The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. It is ticking away and chiming as it should and comes complete with its pendulum and winding key. It chimes both the number of hours on the hour as well as once on the half past via a gong.
It measures approximately:
12” / 30.5cm Tall.
7” / 17.75cm Wide.
4” / 10cm Deep.
