Description

A good quality early 19th Century solid mahogany 3 part pedestal desk. The thumb moulded edged top having a replaced hand dyed brown leather writing surface with gold and blind tooling. The graduated drawers all retain the original brass swan neck handles and escutcheons with working Hobbs & Co quality brass locks and keys. The reverse and sides again in polished solid mahogany allowing the desk to be freestanding. The whole stands on offset plinth bases with hidden castors below.
