N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this piece to the Regency era.
There is then a moulding leading to the square body of the case which is designed to look like a bookshelf with columns to the left and eight of the front. The case then has a stepped out base with a hymn sheet mount to the front. Finally there is another shaped moulding leading to the bottom with four shaped feet to each corner.
The dial is then set out in black Roman numerals with a thin ring marking the minutes. The dial then has a wonderful engine turned design to the centre and is finished by two intricately shaped hands.
The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. It is a silk suspension example and is ticking away as it should. Comes complete with both its pendulum and winding key!
The clock also has its original wooden support underneath a piece of metal to the base as photographed, this is signed by what I believe to be the maker although I can’t quite make it out.
A truly beautiful and unique clock that would look fantastic is any home or as part of a larger collection.

4.5” / 11.5cm Wide.
2.75” / 7cm Deep.
