Here is a beautiful Delft tile depicting a small brightly coloured bird with a wonderfully characterful face, sat amongst the berries and foliage, with blue ox-head corner motifs, and presented in a small detachable wooden frame.
Made from a yellowish pale clay and finished with a flatter tin glazed surface, this tile is in a good bright and vibrant condition, with blues, greens, yellows and oranges - a lovely looking piece that''s a real window into another era.
There is possibly a historical small restored area to the tips of the top right and left of the tile, but on close examination it is hard to discern if this is just the natural patination and old residual plaster / grout of the tile itself - I have made sure to add detailed photos of this area for you to see.
The tile is currently displayed in a small wooden frame, but is easily removed at the back and can be displayed ''au-naturel'' if the buyer prefers.
The measurements are:
Framed - 16cm x 16cm
Tile - 12.5
...cm x 12.5cm
