English Fusee Library Clock By Brockbanks & Atkins, London. Numbered 12306. Circa 1835.

A typically good quality, English mantel or table clock by these well-respected makers.
 
The eight day duration, single chain fusee movement with Anchor Recoil escapement, pendulum locking bracket and upper, micrometer regulation to the pendulum.
 
Behind a 3 1/4'' wide x 4 1/2'' high, engraved and silvered dial with wax-filled floral scroll engraving around the minute track and Roman hour numerals. The lower having a blanked area bearing the maker''s name ''Brockbanks & Atkins, London'' in script and also the number ''12306''. The blued steel hands being tapered to a point and the hour hand having a Fleur-de-Lys. The dial is framed with a silvered sight moulding fitted to the glazed front door.
 
The ''4-glass'' mahogany case has a carved caddy top with a flat top and moulding around its base. The trunk of the case has a full-height locking front door that is bevel glazed and flanked by canted and reeded corners with lamb''s-ear terminations. The sides being plain and having recta...
