17thc Limewood Carving Of A Cherub Amongst The Grapevines. Continental C1670-90

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Mark Seabrook Antiques

A truly fine work of art....this late 17thc carving of a ''cheeky'' cherub climbing the grapevine with the vine heavily laden with grapes, has been beautifully carved out of one piece of Limewood....it shows the cherub looking out of the vine having climbed nearly to the top....the quality of the carving is excellent and it has taken so much time and skill to carve....it really is a delight to own and would look stunning in a conservatory or orangery, maybe with a plant on top also draping down...!

Continental - possibly Dutch or Italian. C1670-90.
