Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco mirrors from the 1930s typically feature frameless designs held together with metal clips, bevelled edges, geometric silhouettes, and decorative cut-glass etchings such as ribbons or garlands. Coloured glass accents in peach, amber, or blue were frequently incorporated along the borders.

These mirrors were constructed using silvered plate glass mounted on timber backings, held in place with metal edge clips. Etched decorative patterns were produced using wheel-cut or acid-etched techniques, while border elements utilised tinted glass.

Authentic period pieces exhibit wooden backboards, original chrome or nickel-plated securing clips, subtle silvering oxidisation near the edges, and crisp wheel-cut engravings rather than modern printed patterns.

A period mirror can be positioned above a fireplace mantelpiece, sideboard, or console table to introduce architectural geometry and reflect light. The soft hues of peach or tinted glass complement both modern neutral palettes and traditional dark wood furniture.

Clean vintage glass using a soft microfiber cloth dampened slightly with water or a mild glass cleaner applied directly to the cloth. Avoid moisture contact with the backing edges and wooden elements to prevent desilvering.
