This is a beautiful modelled 19thc bronze recumbent Greyhound, wearing a collar with a flower design and bell....it has gained a lovely natural dark brown patination and it sits upon a rectangular Violet Breche Marble base....possibly Italian as the Marble is extracted in Italy from the town of Seravezza, near to the Carrara region of Italy....the bronze is produced using the traditional ''lost wax'' process.
Continental / Possibly Italian. C1870-90. Provenance: Purchased at Olympia Antiques Fair 2007 - From a private collection.
