Lincoln Restorations has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
A Lovely period walnut davenport

ideal for any period property. This very usable and compact desk has a turned finale gallery top with brass bars to the lid of the lift up fitted stationary compartment and is complete with its internal Pigeon hole divisions. We believe the gallery on the top has possibly been replaced by a previous owner. The sloping gold tooled green leather (original) covered writing surface conceals a large interior. This very versatile, functional writing desk is well suited to laptop use as it has a lift up lid with storage compartment to store the laptop and a leather skiver slope to aid writing or even typing on as the slope is a more comfortable position to type. This lovely original Davenport desk is very unusual having 2 open shelves with turned pillars between. The desk is also polished on the back enabling this desk to look at home and elegant placed almost anywhere in a room and stands on original castors.

We have sympathetically restored this item maintaining original patina by just carefully waxing this item to enhance the French polished surface and preserve it for many years to come.
Please note; This item is in great condition for its age as shown by the photographs, however, being an antique item of this age there may be minor blemishes here and there which we feel adds to its originality and heritage of the piece.

Please note; Items placed on or around the desk are not included in the sale.
