Fantastic German mahogany bracket / mantel clock having a striking ''ting-tang'' mechanism by noted makers LFS. The 4.5''dial has a silvered chapter ring and matted brass centre surrounded by beautiful cast spandrels. The clock strikes on the hr and half hr but does have an additional dial to silence the chime when needed. The brass handle, finials, feet and fish scale sound frets decorate the warm mahogany case beautifully. Like all antiques there are the odd age-related marks but that does not devalue from the outstanding quality of this clock.Lorenz Furtwanger & Son or LFS were considered high quality clocks build in Germany during the 19th Century and early 20th Century.
