Description

A George III silver snuff box with clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1790 and maker’s mark for Joseph WILLMORE. The George III head is also present. The hallmarks appear on the inside of the lid and the box. This is a small elegant and refined piece. There is bright cut decoration all over with a fish scale pattern on the lid top, bands of different patterns around the edges, sides and on the base and a central lattice panel on the base. It is heavily gilded inside. The lid closes with a nice click. The cartouche bears the original italic initials BH. In excellent condition.
