A spectacular 19th.Century French Empire Style long case clock in mahogany with gilded brass mounts throughout. The Doric pediment capped with an ornamental eagle with further mounts to the frieze above the laurel wreath decorated dial with Roman numerals and engine turned centre. The month duration movement striking on the hour and half hour. The large mahogany and brass pendulum having a floral surround with a classical female head to the centre.The top section supported on 4 turned columns with brass capitals. The lower section supported on applied square columns with further mounts, the back panel adorned with a Classical Greek urn. The whole raised on a concave plinth base supported by turned feet. Condition Very good and the movement has been cleaned and serviced. Dimensions:- Max.Height…96''/ 244cm. Width…19.5''/ 49.5cm. Depth…10.75''/ 27.5cm.
