An unusual set of 4 Black Forest carved walnut hall chairs in the manner of Arnold Wyss of Brienz, Switzerland, The shaped, carved and pierced backs with two oval panels inlaid with several Alpine scenes including chamois, hunters, cattle, ibex and edelweiss etc. The serpentine fronted seats inlaid with further Swiss scenes in an oval border and all raised on carved and scrolling front and backs legs. Condition:- Some ware associated with age & use to the seats, but overall in very good condition with no breaks or damage. Dimensions:- Height…37’’/ 94cm. Width…18’’/ 46cm. Depth…15’’/ 38cm.
