An unusual early 18thc antique silver needle case , the silver is nicely detailed with a fish scale pattern and has an unusual concave shaped flat base, the base was probably used as a way of forcing a needle similar to how you would use a thimble..... it has the same tapered shape that you find with Dutch cases of this period, but no hallmarks , which is sometimes the case with continental pieces of this date.... It is in excellent condition for its age with no splits, just normal wear you would expect to find on a domestic item....
Dutch. C1720-40.
