Antique Early Victorian Mahogany Tall Chest of 7 Drawers

A lovely Victorian chest of drawers.

We are delighted to bring to you this fine example of a rare early Victorian (circa 1860) 7 descending drawer chest of drawers. This tall chest of drawers features 3 small drawers along the top, the middle of which is a dummy with the other 2 locked until opening the drawers underneath and pressing a wooden tab on the underside of the top drawers to release them. This lovely chest is made from fine quality Mahogany and features mouldings around each drawer and unusually stands on 4 tall elegantly shaped bracket feet of Georgian influence. This tall chest of drawers is in fantastic fully restored condition featuring original beautiful lightly faded french polished finish with a lovely rich mahogany colour. The chest also features its finely original turned mahogany knobs and brass keyhole escutcheons in front of its original locks (no keys). The finely dovetailed drawers are in good condition, smoothly operating and are very clean inside. This chest of drawers has had most of the drawer runners replaced so now have little to no wear, do not drop when opened and are good for many more years to come. We have carefully cleaned and waxed this chest, maintaining its original patina whilst giving a lovely natural sheen.

Please note; This item is in fantastic condition for its age as shown by the photographs below. Being an antique item of this age there are obviously marks, scratches, dents and repairs here and there. However, we feel that these points are which adds to its charm and character to a piece.
