Artisan Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This spoon features an array of desirable Russian craftsmanship; the reverse side of the spoon features a stunning 'Champlevé' enamel design in which the silver is engraved and enamel is 'filled in' resulting in a smooth finish (unlike cloisonne which is protruding).
In addition to the Champleve, this spoon's bowl is magnificently embellished with Plique-a-jour.

The handle features a beautiful twisted design with further intricate enamelling at the terminal.
The spoon displays the excellence of Imperial Russian craftsmanship and design in such a 'simple' object as a single spoon.

The spoon is marked with the maker's mark A.K, and the assay master mark AP combined with the Moscow town and 88 Zolotniks mark.
