Two Early Oak High Back Chairs Circa 1680

17th century
Description

Two similar Stuart high back chairs with well carved top rails and moulded rail backs. Both with turned front legs, one with turned front stretcher otherwise plain stretchers. Wood seats. One has part of top rail missing (its been gone a long time) and the other has old iron strap repair to one back leg. Both are firm. Good rich darkish colour with great waxed patina.

Size; 453" high, 18" wide, 16" deep.
