~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A Substantial and fine Rococo clock of gilded bronze. The case formed in the Louis XV style of bold scrolling acanthus standing upon a naturalistically modelled base. To the top, an arched Rococo flourish of scrolls and leaves. To the front is a pastoral trophy of bagpipes after Antoine Watteau.

The front and sides are mounted with fretted panels backed with fabric to lighten the design. The large dial is gilt bronze mounted with twelve individual cartouche porcelain letters in the 18th century style. The elegant hands are finely cut and blued steel.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock, please ask and we will send you a link.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration. The dial is also in excellent condition with no damage. We have replaced the fabric with fresh.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
