An interesting and quality pair of 19th. Century oil on canvas paintings of Esmerelda and her goat Djali from the fictional novel “The Hunchback of Notre-Dame” by Victor Hugo of 1831. The canvases have been beautifully cleaned and relined back in October 1983 by top restorers E. Stacy-Marks Ltd. (members of B.A.D.A. and the Fine Art Trade Guild). The gilded ornate frames are in excellent condition.
