Antique Treen 19thc Minature Bow Saw With Wooden Frame. English C1880/90.

A rare survival is this small rather primative ''bow'' saw ...it is only 5.4'' (13.7cms) wide , with its original steel blade still intact held by two wooden upright posts....the blade can be kept tight by twisting the string with a wooden toggle (peg) attached to one loop of the cord, adding tension. The toggle hits the stretcher, which keeps the cord from untwisting..... in very good condition with a fine colour.
English. C1880-90.
